Scoutmaster Charles Cox along with Troop 1709 of White Plains, Maryland presented Cubmaster Mike Douglass and Assistant Cubmaster Joe Laberge with a Certificate of Appreciation at a Troop 1709 Court of Honor held at Mattingley Ave. Park on August 6, 2005.  The award was given for the recent establishment of a new friendship between the two groups, providing leadership opportunities for young Boy Scouts, mentorship for Cub Scouts, and a reinforcement of the Boy Scouts of America spirit overall.
