American Red Cross, Southern Maryland Chapter   They will come out and do training and demonstrations of first aid, CPR, etc. Will tailor the program to your needs—for example, will cover list of requirements for Webelos Readyman activity badge. Firehouses: Get to know your local fire station. They are always willing to talk to groups about safety and let the boys scramble around on a fire truck. Look for other ways to interact with them: for example, see if they are doing any special emergency preparedness training and offer your scouts as “victims” to practice on. Our local firehouse allows us to use the firehouse for our Pinewood Derby event.

Search and Rescue Dogs of Maryland:  Will do demonstrations for Pack level and larger, involving education on the dogs, their training, their purpose. The demo includes “finding” a hidden scout outside. Excellent presentation and the kids love it.
