Area High Schools: Check out plays, musicals, and concerts at area high schools. Often free.

College of Southern Maryland   Attend student performances of plays and concerts. Often have a concert series featuring world-class musicians and dance troupes at reasonable prices.

Encore Kids:  This musical troupe of kids performs music and drama throughout the county. They will make special arrangement for groups to attend their dress rehearsals for free or may even put on a performance for Pack meetings. Harmony Hall   Located in Ft. Washington, they have art exhibits as well as performances of well-known, talented artists, storytellers, and musicians.

National Cathedral   You don’t need to go to Europe to see a soaring gothic cathedral—we have one right here in Washington. Check the website for tour and special program information. Get great view of NW Washington from the tower, listen the carillon (bells) on Sunday afternoon, talk about the engineering marvel of the flying buttress, or take a self-guided tour of the gargoyles and try to find the one shaped like Darth Vader.

National Gallery of Art   Did you know they were kid-friendly at the NGA? Check out their kids programs: Calendar of Events, Children’s Film Program, and Family Activities. Most events and programs are free, but some require advance registration.
